2nd December: Yoghurt pot tea light holders

Every time I shop in Lidl I find something new to get excited about. I don't know whether it's the feeling of being in a continental supermarket, the impressive amount of fresh local produce or the fact that there are different products available from one week to the next but shopping there is always an enjoyable experience for me.

During our last trip I discovered some great yoghurts in glass jars that are part of their Deluxe range that came with sachets of crunchy topping. Needless to say the contents didn't last long as they were delicious but I washed the jars with a view to them being transformed into something else at a later date.

As you can see I'm now using them as mini tea light holders having added some festive twine and secured some mulled wine-scented candles in place with some blu-tack. I think they look quite effective. You could paint the jars, use stickers and even add some coloured sand in the bottom to make them unique. A simple make for children and adults alike plus a great way to up-cycle some old jars.
