Having taken my own advice, here are my lists of things I will and won't be making this Christmas in the hope that it might inspire, encourage or discourage as appropriate...

Sausage rolls (Using ready made pastry)
Mince pies (Using ready made pastry)
Roast ham for Christmas Eve
Trifle for Christmas Eve
Roast beef & all the trimmings for Christmas Day including stuffing
A simple fish-based starter using the North Coast Smokehouse Organic Hot smoked Salmon & my Beetroot & dill chutney
An alternative to Christmas pudding (very simple no-bake rocky road-style recipe in the shape of a Christmas pud)
I won't be making...
Soup for Christmas Day (my lovely Brother-in-law will be doing that)
Christmas pudding (my lovely Mother-in-law will be doing that)
Custard - shop bought
Cheese & biscuits - shop bought
After dinner mints/truffles/sweets - shop bought
If find it very liberating to let things go, share the load and get stuff written down so if you're feeling overwhelmed with what lies ahead, get jotting, delegating and selecting; and then make sure you enjoy the build-up!
