Day 1 of #65daysofsummer

It’s amazing how time seems to whizz by. In the blink of an eye our youngest has completed her first year of primary school and here we are starting another summer break.

Whether you have the whole summer, a couple of weeks or just the mornings, evenings and weekends I hope you’ll find something inspiring in my daily blog posts. Most will be focused on families but there will be some aimed solely at adults. Some things will be small and super simple, some will be about places to visit or things to make.

From week 2 I will also be running #WeMeetWednesdays where I’ll post at the beginning of the week what I’ll be doing that Wednesday morning. You are welcome to join us in our weekly adventures so look out for the post if you are keen to meet-up.

It’s easy to get caught-up in the pressure that seems to exist around making our children’s summer holidays fun-filled and memorable. I don’t believe you have to go to loads of effort or expense to get the best out of the time together, nor do I think it should all centre on the children. It’s everyone’s holiday and so I plan to approach it accordingly. Before I launch myself fully into the summer hols I am asking myself what I want to do for ME over the next 65 days. This picture covers some of the things I’ll be doing to help me feel fulfilled, recharged and stimulated by the end of the summer. #ProjectMe

Books: quiet time, working on me, meditating

Face wash & hand cream: pampering myself & taking better care of my skin

Lime: cooking for fun - for family & friends

Herbal tea: nutritious eating & drinking, keeping my focus on my health & fitness

Shot glass: some treats for me 😉 (food, drink & other)

Sunglasses: plenty of time outdoors

Shells: beach therapy & time in nature
